Confessions of Nat Turner: Moral- Do on to others as you want done on to you. I recently had a friend call me and asked for my help. I thought about it for a second and was reminded of the extent on which this friend has helped me. One year at Burning Man two good friends of mine took a large tote of gear for me. This other friend was camped next door to them with an art car. I was camped 3 miles away. That tote had my pillow, blanket, jacket, camel back. I went on foot 5 times to said person who said they would help me bring it to my home. Finally on Friday he got yelled at by his girlfriend at the time and did it. I went until Friday with no pillow. My fault. Should of learned a lesson then. Last year at burning man I was gifted a large expensive camo net. This same person would only agree to take it back for $100. I agreed. Thought it was stingy but oh well, thats him. I took 2 weeks longer than expected to pick it up (my fault.) and he just left it outside with no regard. It got all moldy. :( after that, at Preheat this year this friend already had our Rebels Union Sign in his car, pack up already... He refused to help and take it for us. Simply said No and left. We couldve really used that help. We got stuck with one less truck at the end of the weekend. All of that is fine but now he calls me for help?? It was only human nature that I reverted back to all those times he let me down. I hope he got the help he needed... But if he treats all his friends like he treated me... I doubt it.
