Confidence grows in kiddie corps of Notre Dame receivers Updated: October 1, 2014 10:48PM SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Corey Robinson knew Notre Dame had found a groove with its passing attack against Syracuse. The wide receiver just didn’t realize record run the team had embarked on. Quarterback Everett Golson completed a single-game school-record 25 consecutive passes. The streak came to an end in the fourth quarter with a pass in Robinson’s direction. Robinson was shocked to learn that with one more completion, Golson would have tied the FBS record. “I had no idea. I feel bad,” Robinson said with a smile Wednesday. “Now I feel like maybe I should have dove or something.” Robinson shouldn’t get too choked up. He did have a team-high eight catches for 91 yards and one acrobatic touchdown. The sophomore is part of a young wide receiving corps that has grown up quickly. “It’s a group that is gaining confidence along the way,” coach Brian Kelly said. “They are making some plays, and as you make plays, I’ve always felt that that’s how you gain confidence.” Sophomore Will Fuller leads the Irish with 25 catches for 344 yards and five touchdowns. He had six catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns against the Orange. [...] ilinnews/confidence-grows-in-kiddie-corps-of-notre-dame-receivers/
