Confirmed: MOCA in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police and the UK National Crime Agency conducted a search and seizure operation in St Catherine, in support of a wider regional and international collaborative effort to stem the flow of cocaine from South America through the Caribbean and into Europe and by extension, the UK. This local operation according to MOCA, was the culmination of an ongoing investigation involving Law enforcement authorities from the United Kingdom, Martinique (France) and MOCA. According to MOCa, based on an ongoing investigation, and upon request, MOCA executed a search and seizure operation at a premises in St. Catherine, Jamaica, where an individual believed to be connected with the seizure was located. During the operation a number of items were uplifted and retained as evidence and will be essential in further investigating and dismantling this international major organised crime group. This effort is directly in line with MOCA’s mandate to tackle Major Organised Crime, locally, regionally and internationally.
