Tyler Derouen helps Team Louisiana 16 down Southern Select 7-2 Team Louisiana 16 beat Southern Select 7-2 in seven innings on Friday at Southeastern behind Tyler Derouen, who collected three hits. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings. Thomas Evans had an impressive outing against Team Louisiana 16s lineup. Evans held Team Louisiana 16 hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one. Hunter Roussell got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over five innings. Roussell struck out two, walked one and gave up four hits. Mason Turner ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out two. Team Louisiana 16 stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring two runs on two errors. Southern Select got one-run rallies in the first inning and the sixth. In the first, Southern Select scored on an RBI double by Phillip Hutchinson, bringing home Dalton Louviere. Team Louisiana 16 increased its lead with four runs in the third. Matthew Ezernick kicked things off with a double, bringing home Derouen and Connor Dupuy. That was followed up by Landon Robertss single, scoring Peyton Doumite. After pushing across one run in the bottom of the sixth, Southern Select faced just a 6-2 deficit. A fielders choice sparked Southern Selects rally. Bailey Lasseigne ended the inning by getting Hutchinson to ground out.
