Congrats to the Boston Red Sox on an amazing season and a dominate post-season. As a Yankees fan, Im pre-disposed to detest their entire organization, but here are two undeniable truths. 1) The city of Boston deserved this championship as much as any city in our nation. Just as the country rallied around the Yankees in 2001 following the terror attacks, we all stood behind Boston and its citizens in the aftermath of that horrible afternoon at the Marathon when Terror senselessly attempted to tear apart all that was good and right. On April 15th, we were all reminded of just how fragile and fleeting and uncertain life is. Boston, enjoy the party, enjoy the thrill of victory. Never forget though what is truly important. 2) I dont think it can be overstated that, in my memory I cannot remember a team in the 21st century that demonstrated the kind of chemistry that lived in Bostons clubhouse all season. No prima donnas, no finger-pointing, no controversies. Just 25 guys working with a common vision and willing to do whatever it took to achieve that goal. Just think where our nation could be if that type of focus and selflessness were turned loose in the halls of Washington. Night all.
