Congratulations, VFW 2013 Eagle Scouts of the year Post 209! Eagle Scout David Beach, Troop 1911 was selected as Post 209 – 2013 Eagle Scout of the year in 1st place for 2013 and awarded a scholarship of $ 350.00. He also finished in 1st place for the State of Montana, and is competing for the National top three award, winners receive 5k, 3k and 2k in scholarships respectfully. Eagle Scout Lars Miller, troop 1911 was selected as Post 209 – 2013 Eagle Scout of the Year in 2nd place and awarded a Scholarship of $ 250.00 The Veterans of Foreign Wars is a Congressionally chartered war veterans organization. Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, VFW currently has 1.5 million members belonging to 7,644 posts, and is the largest American organization of combat veterans. Direct community involvement is a VFW priority, extending beyond the realm of veterans helping fellow veterans. The VFWs partnership with the Boy Scouts of America includes sponsoring more than 1,200 Scouting units with 40,000 members across the nation. Each year, the VFW selects young Scouts — of the Boy or Girl Scouts, Sea Scouts or Venturing Crew — who have demonstrated exceptional character and citizenship in school, scouting and the community.
