Congratulations to all who endured the heat this morning, - TopicsExpress

Congratulations to all who endured the heat this morning, especially our first fellow over the line, Jacob Wells with 21.01 and our first lady, Susan Ilka with 27.33, well done in quite extreme conditions. Congratulations to all our runners who contributed to the Friends of Lake Apex appeal, the total was $116. FOLA attended today to collect the donation, were truly appreciative of your efforts and will let us know in due course how theyll spend the money. Thank you to our volunteers today, Lee-Ann Wells, Georgie Smith, Samantha Redinger, Debra Faulkner and Theresa Seru, great work. Volunteers are required from 29 November onwards. The roster is available at the registration table each week so you can choose a date that suits you. Everyone who has volunteered for 22 November has volunteered multiple times. We need to see new faces to get the volunteering commitment down to three times a year each max. Then we (the run directors) will stop nagging you and everyone can stress less! Thank you to those people who remembered to keep left today and for the runners who started back in the field to let the fast people get away without mishap. We appreciate the co-operation. Still there were a couple of people who forgot about keeping left, so for safetys sake, think of it like driving, apply the same rules, and if you need to stop suddenly, please step off the path. Some reminders: Bring your barcode! Bring a water bottle WITH WATER IN IT (yes, believe it or not, people brought empty water bottles today)! We really cant state this loudly enough: start your run hydrated and keep hydrated. When youve finished your run, find shade. Takuya Okado, Dawn Jackwitz and the Potter Family, please register, print and BRING your barcodes as wed love to be able to give you your times next time you run with us. As mentioned previously, wed like to have some runners set the pace for 27, 30 and 33 minute finishes. Neil Schultz has already volunteered to be a pace runner for 25 minutes. There is no obligation to attend every week, see a run director if youre interested. Looking ahead .... were planning a post-run Christmas sausage sizzle for 13 Dec, if youre keen, please let us know so we know how many snags to order. Lastly, so many of you were concerned about Kathy - she would like you all to know that she is very thankful to those who assisted last week and for everyone who was worried about her. She has fully recovered from severe dehydration and she will be back at parkrun soon. And that, I think, is quite enough!
