Congratulations to the Raleigh Young Professionals who served as an OUTDOOR LEARNING DREAM TEAM at Johnson Pond Learning Center in Fuquay-Varina. They performed their transformative magic planting trees and flowers, installing a vine teepee and planting strawberries in a repurposed gutter attached to a fence. This work is part of our collaboration with Preventing Obesity by Design through NCSU’s College of Design’s Natural Learning Initiative. Why are we focused on improving playgrounds and outdoor learning environments? Simply put, the benefits of outdoor play cannot be overstated. Not only is it FUN, but it also: • Enhances cognitive abilities • Improves academic performance • Improves social relations and self-discipline • Reduces stress Do you want organize your colleagues and friends for Outdoor Learning Dream Team?
