Connecticut School Security Competitive Grant Program Available amount: $5,000,000 total program funds Deadline: July 29, 2013 This Connecticut Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection program provides reimbursements for improvements to the security infrastructure at schools including but not limited to; installation of surveillance cameras, penetration resistant vestibules, ballistic glass, solid core doors, double door access, computer controlled electronic locks, entry door buzzer systems, scan card systems, panic alarms or systems, the purchase of portable entrance security devices, including but not limited to metal detector wands and screening machines and the training of school security personnel in the operation of the security infrastructure. Eligibility Requirements: Connecticut public schools including public magnet and regional schools. Private, parochial, charter and state technical schools are not eligible.
