Conquer the obstacle; rewards will be great How many times have you seen a branch of a tree fallen on the road due to the heavy rains? How many times have you seen a brick or a big stone lying in your path? What did you do? Bypass the obstacle and move on or did you shift the obstacle away from your path? If you moved the stone or branch from its inappropriate position, then you my child, are God’s greatest gift to mankind because your action not only cleared the path for yourself but also for others that followed. And for those who took that extra step to help himself and others will be greatly rewarded by HIM. There are basically three kinds of people in this world about whom our scriptures beautifully describe… Prarabhyate na khalu vighna bhayena nicheh Prarabhya vighna vihata virmanti madhyah Vighneh Punah punarapi prati-hanya manah Prarabhya chottam-janah na parityajanti The first kind, are those who fear failure even before undertaking the task. And hence, they refrain from taking any action against anything. The second type of people are those who have the heart to perform good deeds, to help the needy, however when faced with difficulty they tend to retreat thereby suspending the task. These people lack the inner courage and resources to overcome the challenge and perform the task. In other words, they have the heart but not the will carry on their good deeds. The third type of the people, are those that have the heart and the will to do good to themselves and others. These people simply keep clearing the obstacles that block their path and continue their mission eventually bringing a smile on the faces of many people, even strangers. There was a huge boulder sitting in the middle of a pathway in a tiny hamlet. The rich, affluent and merchants simply bypassed it and carried their things around it. Many others didn’t even cross the path but turned and walked back. And there were others who stood round the boulder and criticized the king for mismanaging infrastructure and obstructing their way. While all this was happening, a peasant walked by carrying a load full of vegetables to sell in the market. He stopped by near the boulder, carefully put his load down and moved the boulder inch by inch to one corner of the path. Having done that, he was about the pick his load of vegetables that he’d left on the side, when he noticed a wallet. It was filled with gold coins and a note from the king that read “This reward is meant for he who conscientiously moves the boulder from the path.” Just like the king was watching over his subjects, God is watching over his children. He deliberately puts obstacles in front of us to test our commitment, to bring out our inner strength and courage. It is this test of life that shapes an individual from within. Don’t bypass it; face it, overcome it and become enlightened. Make this practice firm whatever the situation you are in, I am victorious and success is my birthright Awakening With Brahma Kumaris
