Construction will begin Monday on a $4.3 million project to repair and resurface six miles of Route 132 (Street Road) between Route 532 (Bustleton Pike) and Interstate 95 in Lower Southampton and Bensalem townships. In addition to improving travel by resurfacing the deteriorated pavement on Route 132 (Street Road), crews will install new ADA curb ramps. On Monday, Sept. 29 through Friday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane restrictions are planned on Route 132 (Street Road) between Reading Avenue and Route 532 (Bustleton Avenue) for conduit installation. The paving operation on Route 132 (Street Road) is scheduled to start the week of Oct. 6, and will result in lane restrictions weeknights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The milling and paving part of this project is scheduled to be completed in two phases – the area between Route 532 (Bustleton Pike) and U.S. Route 1 (Old Lincoln Highway) will be done this year and the pavement between Route 1 (Old Lincoln Highway) and I-95 in spring 2015. The entire project is expected to finish in July 2015.
