Contemplating life in my two countries and how it makes you feel. At times its an almost ecstatic feeling - as if your world is a bit bigger than that of others, and a strong sense of belonging in more than one place. At other times its almost a sense of alienation - of not really being at home anywhere. There will always be connotations I miss, subtle things in a joke or a story that I simply will not get, due to the fact that I was currently in my other country when the topic discussed took place. And there is constant change in countries and societies. Upon returning to one of the countries after some time, the pictures in my memory will never be consistent with reality, because too much has changed. I think I can simply put it this way - I have two homes but no roots. But the advantages are far greater than the disadvantages.
