Continuing to Serve our Community Wed 21st January 2015 What a really nice night tonight with 65 patrons arriving right at 8 pm, many of them getting there before us and meeting us at our cars to help us carry the food. There were some new faces again, and our regular little family were there. I was able to provide socks for the little one to start school next week as he said he didnt have any. We had a variety of food tonight which went in 30 minutes. Its a pleasure to see the patrons enjoying the food, coming back and telling us how nice it was and saying Thank You. Tonight we provided a curry, fried rice, pasta bolognaise, vegetable lasagne, roast potato, sauerkraut, garlic zuchinis. I had a platter of cold meat and they loved being able to make fresh silverside, roast beef and salami sandwiches - I think they were a winner. For dessert we had pavlova, and they were able to take home a variety of sandwiches, fresh fruit and date cake made by Tracey. Thankyou for the donuts from Emu Plains Donut King - the patrons love to choose which type they like. They were lucky enough to get hygiene packs tonight, and it was a big Thank You from our friend at Emu Plains for his rubber floor to place outside his tent where he resides on the banks of the Nepean River. Its really nice when you hear back from the patrons how the little things we do have made a difference. We really enjoy the friendships we have made, the laughs we have with each other, and the smiles we put on their faces. Until next week, Michelle from the team from Penrith Church of Christ
