Contrary to its name, Snapdeal doesn’t do dealings at a fast - TopicsExpress

Contrary to its name, Snapdeal doesn’t do dealings at a fast pace. I placed an order for a Micromax Canvas Gold A300 White phone on 29th of November, 2014. It was delivered to me on 5th of December, 2014. As instructed I switched it off and charged it. But then when I tried switching it back on, I was unable to do so. When repeated attempts of switching on the phone failed, I was left with no option but to lodge a complaint. I called up the Customer Care on 5th of December, 2014 and spoke to a Customer Care executive stating my grievance regarding the issue. I asked immediate replacement of the phone. The Customer Care guy replied that the entire replacement process would be over within a period of 7 days and added that the phone would be taken from me for replacement within 2 days after I filed the complaint. But instead they came and received my package on the 9th of December i.e. 4 days after I complained. The Courier Service guy who came to take the package gave me his personal number for further queries. Since the courier service needs atleast 3 days to deliver, so I enquired in the Snapdeal Customer Care again after 3 days asking whether they received my package or not. The first time they said they did not receive it. So I enquired the day after, but still I received the same reply. I kept on calling them and they said they still did not receive it yet. Finding no other information on the whereabouts of my package after so long, I called up the Customer Care again and asked the details of the Courier Company of Guwahati who was supposed to send the package. The Customer Care guy promised he would mail me the details of the courier company so that I could go and enquire myself. I waited but to no much use. They did not send me any mail. I called them up the same day and wanted to speak with some senior manager of Snapdeal. In response the Customer Care guy hanged the phone and kept me waiting till my balance drained off and the phone got disconnected. Such was their audacity and foulplay! Today, the 16th of December, 2014, I called them up again but they deliberately disconnected the phone and refused to take my call. I made another attempt, angry and outright disgusted and to my surprise they picked up my call this time. I charged them with fraudulent behaviour and threatened them that if they don’t replace my phone within a stipulated period of time, I would file a case against them in the consumer court and also post about them on social media, to which they paid no heed. Saying so, I hanged the phone. I called the Courier Service guy and asked him whether he sent the package to Snapdeal or not. He replied he will have to check the computer records for the details and then he will let me know. After some time, he called me back saying that they shipped my package to Delhi on the 9th itself and it was delivered in time but the Customer Care denies receiving any such package to this day. This is causing a great deal of discomfort to me. I don’t really know where the package is! Had it been three days, the package should have reached Delhi by now. But it isn’t as it seems. I am caught in a web of lies and don’t know who is indeed holding the package : the courier company or Snapdeal! It’s harassment in simple words. And it’s very irresponsible on Snapdeal’s part to cause a customer so much trouble. Why promise if you can’t keep your word? If fooling in the name of online shopping is all you do, well it’s time people know what actually is “The Deal”!
