Could not agree with Dr Amanda Gummer more in this article by the BBC News on the influence of toys on childrens future careers. Recent studies are showing children may be predisposed to certain play types: role play, artistic play, building play. At A Girl for All Time we believe every child should be able to choose what they want to play with and should be supported in their choices. All toys should be offered to all children. Rather than make all toys the same for everyone, give them lots of options and see what they want to get stuck into! As play and child development psychologist Dr Gummer says, The key is to make sure children have access to a healthy play diet.
