Councillor Kevin Callan Horse Abuse- Enough is Enough In recent weeks we have seen many different instances of animal cruelty around the country and in particular Horse Abuse and Neglect. As I and my wife have been involved with horses for many years I have decided the time has come to start to seriously lobby for the law and sentencing for animal abuse to be changed and to have far more serious sanctions put in place to deter this awful situation. I am asking anyone who knows of any animal charity to get this message to them ASAP and to make contact with me. As a public representative and a barrister I will be arranging a meeting in Drogheda in the coming days to prepare a delegation to meet the minister for agriculture and also the minister for justice to discuss getting this started.
