Court vacates order to remand Bauchi NSCDC commandant A District Court 8 in Bauchi, presided over by Aminu Ilela, has vacated the order of committal to prison against the commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Shuaybu Jibril and one other, over contempt of court. Ilela said last Friday that he vacated the order because he realised that the NSCDC had obeyed an earlier one. Counsel to the NSCDC, Barrister Bala Dakup said the court order had been complied with on May 23, 2014 while the order of committal to prison was issued on May 26. On May 7, 2014, Illela had also served the accused persons with Order 48, asking them to comply with the earlier order directing them to tender a car with registration No. DAS 157 AA and belonging to one Mrs. Beatrice Gondyi before the court. Owner of the car, Mrs. Gondyi, confirmed that it was released to her by the corps.
