Courtesy of Dave Parker from Full Throttle Promotions, the defending champion of the Sidecar Grand Slam, Mark Plaisted has made a surprise announcement regarding his championship defence: "We would like to inform you all that there will be a passenger change for this coming speedway season. Sam Gilbert has declined to race this season due to personal commitments. We thank Sam for his efforts and outstanding performance during last season and we wish him the best with his new endeavours. On the other hand, we are also excited to announce that Brian Anthony will be joining the Blackchrome SA75 team. Brian has been an outstanding passenger in moto x sidecars and we are looking forward to having him on the team. Welcome aboard Brian!!! As the season gets closer we will be providing regular updates on our preparation for a massive season of sidecar speedway."
