Crook County wrestling: The Crook County Cowboys set a new state scoring record as they wrestled their way to a 4A title. They finished with 405.5, more than 100 points better than the previous record of 303, set by 5A Hermiston in 2009. The Cowboys put 19 of their 23 wrestlers onto the podium, including five state champions, five runners up and three third-place finishers. Hermiston wrestling: Hermiston won the 5A title for the seventh time in eight years. Hermiston was the tournament’s team buzzsaw, as the Bulldogs repeated as state champions. Hermiston claimed individual titles from Liam Tarvin (106), Isaac Aguilar (120) and Samuel Shields-Colbray and rolled up 174 points to easily defeat second-place Dallas (145.5).
