Crossing the Atlantic from Lima to Paris...here are pictures (from the public domain) of, probably, my favorite Parisian mansion, the Nissim de Camondo residence. Built in 1911 by Count Moise de Camondo, a wealthy Jewish banker of Turkish origin, this house near the Parc Monceau has an exquisite collection of decorative arts, especially from the 18th century. Everything in this house is remarkable, from the lift to the kitchen, the dreamy china room -- even the toilets. A must see. And the de Camondo family story is also tragically mesmerizing.
