Cult hero Luis Garcia Tweets joy at chance to wear Liverpool shirt again Luis Garcia is looking forward to playing for Liverpool again in a charity game in April. Liverpool FC have announced a charity game as part of their ‘Celebration of the 96’ event planned by the Hillsborough Family Support Group between a local Liverpool legends side against an international Liverpool legends side. Both teams will also be guided by legendary gaffers in the form of Kenny Dalglish and Gerard Houllier. The local team features an abundance of top drawer past Liverpool players - with the likes of Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush are three of the biggest talents on show, but the international team should not be shirked at either. The likes of Vladimir Smicer, Didi Hamaan and Jan Molby are so far confirmed - with more yet to come. The name Luis Garcia also stands out - as the Spaniard only recently retired from professional football. He hung up his boots in January after a career that saw him play for Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Panathinaikos. The 35-year-old winger won the Champions League and FA Cup during his time at Anfield - and finished his playing career in Mexico with Puebla and Pumas UNAM before calling time on his career. He was undoubtedly a popular figure at Anfield during his time at the club - with his flamboyant style, European football success and trademark celebration lending themselves to be appreciated by the Liverpool fans. And now he has Tweeted his excitement at getting the opportunity to adorn the Liverpool shirt one more time… #hopzy
