Custom 5 string bass, made on Slovakia in 1999. This bass came to me a few weeks back to have LED fret markers put into the fretboard. The age and thru neck design made this a difficult task. Fretboard removed, groove cut to allow the wiring, a double battery box fitted, active pickup battery box moved, switch fitted to the front. 10 super bright red LEDs fitted to the fret board. The difficulty in jobs like this you can never tell what you will find/ disturb, when the fretboard was remove I noticed that the old style anchor type truss had compressed all the wood at its anchor point, which cause no more adjustment. I removed the old style truss rods and fitted a dual action truss rod this will make the neck more stable and have a lot better adjustment in the future. The leds look more red person.
