Customers can now purchase a variety of food items, made by military veterans at a new Dallas District “Mobile Village Post Office(VPO).” The grand opening of the first traveling Village Post Office in the Dallas District and in the country was held on May 1st inside the mobile Hummingbird Market. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the First Monday Trade Days, Canton, TX. The mobile Hummingbird Market is owned by Pam Slate, the widow of a Marine Corp Veteran, who served in the military for 18 years. Ms. Slate formed a ‘ Veterans Farm Coop’ and all of the fresh foods, jarred foods, and gifts are grown or made by Veterans. The Hummingbird Market travels to several trade event days in Texas, and one of the oldest and largest outdoor flea markets in the country is the First Monday Trade Days of Canton, TX
