Cyndi Vasquez-Barrios October 20, 2014 Curie Class of 1984 Dear Curie Class of 1984: Thank you so much for your participation in the Curie High School 30th Reunion Celebration. It was wonderful to see all of the classmates that came to join in the celebration. I hope that you felt your experience was what you hoped and expected from the reunion. I hope you had the opportunity to reconnect with old and lost friends or even made new ones and that you crave out a time to stay connected to them in the future. Remembering high school and the friends you made: Nothing is more important than reconnecting with your bliss (friends that make you happy). Nothing is as rich. Nothing is more real. - Deepak Chopra As you may know, it was labor intensive but a labor of love to coordinate this event for our class. It was great to see all those individuals step up to the plate despite their busy work and personal lives and volunteer their time and money to get this event to the level that you experienced on Friday. I would like to thank all those individuals that this event would not have happened without. This event was a team effort and each of us played a key role in making the picnic and dinner a possibility. I believe that everyone should thank and appreciate all the efforts and time sacrificed by the core committee, Jeff Jurkovich, Sanette Isa, Mechon Manley, Tina Messmer, Joseph Avdich, Olga Bustos, Ted Zubick, Donna Vade Bon Coeur, and Sang Kuczura. I would also like to the Yoli Velazquez for the help with emailing. Karen Ancerowics and Olga for helping with the photo booth props. Sara Vasquez for donating the cake and cupcakes. I also like to thank Cecila Silburn and her husband Joe Silburn for last minute help getting everything to the place and with set-up and tear down. Without these key individuals this event would not have not been possible. Nothing happens in a vacuum and the wonderful teamwork involved was amazing. To work with such a professional team of individuals based on a bond of our time at Curie High School was a pleasure and a blessing. I hope through this experience that we have formed friendships for life. For those of you that were unable to join us, you were truly missed. I hope that you have the opportunity to reconnect with us in the future as I feel the more the merrier. I love to commend those that joined us with the warm and inviting atmosphere that you created during the event and how you opened your arms and hearts in welcoming those you did not know and high school and struck up conversations that made everyone feel a part of the event. Your core committee will come together one more time to debrief on the event and perhaps lay out a plan for the future of our reunions. I plan to post a survey link on our FB page so that we can receive your feedback about the event and what you may like to see in the future. If you are interested in being involved in future planning and communications please let me know at that time. Please keep in mind it is a serious commitment, but we welcome those that want to join the team. Thank you again, and we look forward to your continued support and participate in the future. Sincerely, Cyndi Vasquez Reunion Committee Co-Chair
