DAILY CHALLENGE!!! 2nd Samuel Chapter 18 Joab was in an unthinkable situation. The King had given very strict orders not to harm Absalom, his son. Joab knew however that if peace would not be found if Absalom was still alive. The twenty thousand men who had already died (vs. 7) would only be the beginning of the bloodshed. So what is Joab to do? Then Joab gets word that Absalom is found in a unique position (FYI-some scholars feel that hair is referring to head in this text). Joab has made the decision and kills Absalom. What decision would you have made? Do you follow the direction of your superior (and possible friend), who has a personal family interest or do you make the call that you strongly believe will cause the most good?
