Guillerme Lorente, Newells president, already revealed in December that both Roma and Tottenham Hotspur had lodged very good offers for the highly-rated 17-year-old and the Argentine side have now revealed an agreeent has been reached with the Serie A club. An agreement has been reached with Roma over the transfer of Ezequiel Ponce. The player will continue with Newells until December, a statement on Twitter reads. Ponce scored on his Primera Division debut for Newells last March and is regarded as one of the biggest talents around in South America. The young striker has gone on to find the back of the net four times in 18 league matches since his debut. Ponce will join compatriots Leandro Paredes and Juan Iturbe at Roma once he joins up with his new team in January 2016. Dani Alves could stay at Barcelona - agent Dani Alves agent Dinorah Santa Ana has suggested the Brazil international could decide to extend his expiring contract with Barcelona, although she was quick to stress no offer has been made and the defender has not yet made a final decision. The 31-year-old olds current deal with the Catalans runs out at the end of the 2014-15 campaign and he was previously believed to be keen on a new challenge. However, Dinorah has now made it clear a contract extension remains an option for Dani Alves as well. Dani has not yet made a decision whether he wants to stay at Barcelona or leave the club. Hes open to both options, the defenders agent told Sport. Bielik set to complete Arsenal move Arsenal are on the verge of completing a deal for Legia Warsaw starlet Krystian Bielik. Arsene Wengers side sent deal-fixer Dick Law to Warsaw earlier this week in an attempt to get the agreement over the line amid serious competition from German side Hamburg. Both clubs had offers in the region of €3 million plus add-ons accepted on Wednesday, with the north Londoners having previously had two bids rejected for the 17-year-old midfielder. And Goal can reveal Bielik has opted for the Premier League, with the player due to travel to London on Friday to undergo a medical and finalise personal term Van Dijk: Great to be linked with Arsenal Virgil van Dijk has admitted it is great to be linked with Arsenal and has urged Celtic to allow him to leave if the right club came along with a suitable offer. The defender has long been linked with an exit from Parkhead after an outstanding opening season in Glasgow following a bright spell at Groningen. Arsene Wenger has kept an interest in the 23-year-old after failing with an enquiry on the final day of the summer transfer window, while Everton and Sunderland have joined the race for Van Dijk, prompting Celtic to slap a €12 million price tag on the players head, and the centre-back has suggested that such a fee could put off potential suitors. My time at Celtic has gone awfully quickly, he told De Telegraaf. I have recently been thinking a bit about my career. I am now 23 and have played at Willem II, FC Groningen and Celtic and am now linked to clubs like Arsenal. Isnt that great? There are a lot of clubs interested, but Celtic is holding on to a big transfer fee. The club is clear: they dont want to let me go in the winter, because were playing for four trophies. I understand the point of view from the club and I see it as a compliment that they dont want to let me go. But we have to be realistic. If theres a nice club from England, we have to talk. I want to develop myself as a player, thats for sure. Man Utd want Dybala - Zamparini Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini claims he has rebuffed an approach from Manchester United for Paulo Dybala. The 21-year-old, labelled the next Sergio Aguero by Zamparini, joined the Serie A side for €12 million after just one season with Argentine club Instituto, and has since scored 17 goals for the Italians, including nine in 2014-15. Dybala has subsequently been linked with a number of elite European clubs and Zamparini has now claimed that United have been in touch. And although the 73-year-old insists he wants big money to part with the young talent, he has left the door open to a summer move. Dybala is worth over €40m but I won’t sell him until June, Zamparini said to Radio Due. Many foreign clubs asked about him, including Manchester United. I told the English side that he is not for sale right now, but we can talk about it again in six months. In my view, he is the best striker in Europe at the moment. Steven Gerrard: Liverpool loan return possible - Ian Ayre. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard could return to the club on loan following his move to Los Angeles Galaxy, says Anfield chief executive Ian Ayre. The former England midfielder, 34, will leave for Major League Soccer when his contract expires at the end of the season after 25 years with the Reds. The fact hes leaving doesnt mean its the last well see of him at Liverpool, Ayre said. He added that a loan move for Gerrard next January was conceivable. It happens a lot in MLS [Major League Soccer], and its something we talked to Steven and his representatives about, Ayre told Liverpool radio station City Talk. You cant have someone who has so much of the clubs DNA in them and just expect that it will go away. The details arent known yet, but we will keep a regular dialogue with him and I hope we will see him here again in the long term. However, Galaxy president Chris Klein previously told BBC Sport that loaning Gerrard to a European club in the MLS off-season had never been discussed. Gerrards focus will be LA Galaxy, Klein said. Liverpool owner John Henry and manager Brendan Rodgers have both said they envisage a role for the midfielder at Anfield whenever he decides to return from the United States. Gerrard has made 697 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 182 goals, since making his debut in 1998. Man Uniteds Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair yet to agree deals Manchester United are still to agree contracts with youngsters Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett. The defenders have both broken into the United first-team squad following Louis van Gaals arrival as manager. McNair, 19, made his 10th senior appearance in the FA Cup tie at Yeovil, whilst Blackett, 20, reached the same landmark as a substitute in the Premier League defeat by Southampton. As of 1 January, they have been free to talk to other European clubs. United have refused to discuss whether they intend to make further offers to the defenders. Midfield prospect Andreas Pereira, 19, another academy graduate, is out of contract at the end of the season and in the same position. However, Pereira has played only once at senior level, against MK Dons in the 4-0 League Cup defeat in August. McNair and Blackett have been given opportunities this season mainly due to injuries to senior defenders Jonny Evans, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo. But McNair, who was called into Northern Ireland senior squad by coach Michael ONeill for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Romania in November, did reject an initial offer. No further progress has been made since. Wilfried Bony move to Man City the right deal for Swansea - Monk. Swansea manager Garry Monk says Wilfried Bonys move to Man City, which is worth up to £28m, was the right deal for Swansea. The fee for Bony, 26, is almost double Swanseas previous record sale of Joe Allen to Liverpool in August 2012. Bony, the Premier Leagues top scorer in 2014 with 20 goals, joined Swansea for a club-record £12m from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013. This decision was best for the player and best for the club, said Monk. You have to take a lot of things into consideration when these opportunities come up for players and from a club perspective. We always do the best for the club and we felt this was the right deal for us. Of course were disappointed to lose such a good player. But to produce a £28m player at this club . . . I feel quite proud about it. The deal - £25m cash up front and a further £3m in performance-related add-ons - makes Bony, who has scored 11 goals in 32 games for the Ivory Coast, one of the most expensive African footballers in history. Monk, who previously said it would take an astronomical fee to buy Bony, expects him to be successful at the Etihad Stadium, where he is set to stay until 2019. Going to a club like Manchester City, with the world-class players hell be playing with week-in, week-out, the chances that they create throughout games, I think hell do fantastically well, said Monk. Hopefully he goes there and produces the kind of football that he helped produce here and Im sure hell do that. Monk says he has no plans to sign a replacement for Bony, with strikers Bafetimbi Gomis and Nelson Oliveira already at Liberty Stadium. Instead, the 35-year-old says Swansea will use the money to help improve the clubs facilities. Well use it wisely, we always have done, said Monk, adding: Theres infrastructure to improve, plenty of things off the field that we need to improve . . . stadium expansion, training ground, facilities like that which cost a lot of money. Its something the club will put in place to make sure the future of the club is solid. Of course we need to sign players, we need to add quality to the squad, which is important, but it wont be the money that people are trying to tout at this moment. Meanwhile, Monk says there have been no bids for Gomis and is sure the Frenchman, 29, will stay despite speculation over his future. His commitment is there for myself to see, and for his team-mates to see. My focus is on Bafe now for the rest of the season . . . and to help produce his best football, said Monk. [Bafes] a top-quality striker in his own right and hes proven that throughout his whole career. I think hell show in the coming games the quality that he has. You can watch an interview with Garry Monk on Sport Wales this Friday, BBC Two Wales at 20:00 GMT, and on iPlayer for seven days after transmission.
