DAWN TRIVIA OF THE DAY: A total of three different distributors - American International Pictures, Warner Bros., and a small-scale company called United Film Distribution Company - were originally interested in acquiring the U.S. rights to the film in 1978. Despite the latter party offering the lowest amount of money ($500,000 as opposed to AIP’s $750,000 and Warner Bros’ $1,000.000), George Romero and Richard Rubinstein ultimately decided to make the deal with them, since UFDCs executives were the only ones ready to release it completely uncut and unrated.
