DAY 14: I am thankful for the beauty and diversity of birds God created. We only get a smattering of varieties here in the Pacific NW, but enough to be super awed. I enjoy sitting out on the deck observing their habits. Some dig up worms from the ground to eat or take back to their young, some fly around eating bugs out of the sky, some eat varieties of seeds, some eat sugar water and nectar, some fruit from bushes and trees, some eat dead animals, some kill live mammals and eat them. They all have different and distinct songs and ways of communicating. Where and how they bed down and care for their young varies by species. Flight and movement is very dissimilar between kinds. Colors vary not only among species, but among males and females - and none appear to have a gender identity crisis. My mother loved watching birds... I may have inherited that blessing. James B. Jordan says the lyrics in their songs include praises and thanksgiving to God their maker. I delight in them and give thanks for them. It takes an amazing about of blatant truth suppressing credulity to believe these are all a product of an impersonal blind cosmic accident.
