DAY 27: PUPPY PICS AND A SHORT UPDATE! Today the puppies are 2 weeks and one day old and cute as ever! They are thriving and getting so big! Expecting their eyes to open any day and I think their ears are just about there! Holly is pretty attentive to their needs and does care for them. It is apparent shes not the best mom as I told you before....she does some quirky things like nibble on their bellies and arm pits causing little sores and they cry...this doesnt stop her. We have decided to separate her when we are gone for short periods to keep the pups safe. We are thinking this may be why the miller gave her up in the first place...they need good moms to produce the most babies possible. Holly hit a milestone...shes now easily going up and down stairs. This is always a challenge and scary thing for mill dogs...no stairs in their little cubicle of a cage to learn these skills. Im so proud of her! She also has learned that when the door bell rings or someone walks through the door, shes supposed to bark and greet them! My dogs are great teachers for her! Holly is truly the coolest dog! Shes so sweet, seeks attention, and has the most laid back personality!!!!! Potty training is still a work in progress! gah! ...and we are holding her on our laps more and more getting her comfy with this type of attention...that also is coming along! Finally, shes been understandably very protective of her babies especially when it comes to my two dogs...today, she let Dozer sniff the pups and all the bedding. She also was comfortable having him lay next to the bedding area. This was a first! PLEASE DONT BUY YOUR NEXT DOG! CHOOSE ADOPTION AND SAVE A LIFE!!!!! XOXO
