DB2Day autopsy []=Project Dog Bone=[] Ryan did an autopsy on the DB2Day dog bone reactor core, here are his own words: When I pulled the tube out, I was not sure what I would see. Would it be melted or badly corroded? It was discoloured, but not badly damaged like the thermocouple sheath had been on DBDay. The Type B thermocouple had stuck to the inside of the dog bone and had to me pushed out with a rod inserted from the other end. That thermocouple is now damaged and unusable. The cement that bonded it did not stick to the stainless well where it was allowed to get too hot. When I disconnected the tube from the pressure sensor I hear the sound of a vacuum being popped. The pressure sensor also showed a pressure rise at that time. That told me the tube assembly held a vacuum all weekend and must have been pretty intact. More detail is given on the images.
