DEREK THOMPSON, the senior editor for ‘The Atlantic’, online - TopicsExpress

DEREK THOMPSON, the senior editor for ‘The Atlantic’, online magazine survey “Payscale’ is a 2008 Alumnus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He wrote and published the March 26, 2014 report entitled, “These U.S. Colleges and Majors Are the Biggest Waste of Money” – (subhead) “You can major in art at a lower-tier public university if you want to. Just dont expect it to make you rich”. He listed PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY, my alma mater as being one of ‘his’ Ten ‘ART DEGREE colleges. IMO, NORTHWESTEN should return all of the money that Thompson spent to ‘earn’ his degree from their ‘Once-Proud’ journalism school. They didn’t educate him to do professional ‘research’ before writing and publishing ‘stories’ with his byline. In Thompson’s case his Northwestern journalism degree was a ‘Waste of Money’, his time or both. You’d think a graduate of ‘The Potomac School’ in McLean, VA would know better than to ‘Hit Send’ on his bylined ‘work’ before checking the ‘Facts’ like good journalists do. I majored in ART at Pittsburg State University; earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts DEGREE; opened my own art studio; expected it to make me ‘Rich’ and it did.
