DESIGN DAYS DUBAI 2015: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Description The aim of the Crafts Council is to support the growth of a robust British craft sector in a global marketplace with the current focus on development work in the UAE. The Crafts Council is once again supporting a group of makers to present at Design Days Dubai in March 2015. This is an excellent opportunity for contemporary craft makers or studios interested in generating a network and promoting their work in this vibrant market. About Design Days Dubai fair The 4th edition of Design Days Dubai (DDD) will be presented from 16 to 20 March 2015 and is the first and only product and collectable design fair in the Middle East and South Asia. DDD is held as part of Art Week, which includes the established Art Dubai fair. Eligibility and Brief This opportunity is for those that are new to exporting and are keen to explore this market in a supported way. DDD is primarily for professional buyers commissioning works for interiors, whilst also attracting a variety of private and public collectors. Smaller (domestic scale) works will be considered although the majority of the display will be focused on larger works inviting commission. How to Apply Kindly submit a completed Application Form agreeing to the commitments outlined in the Exhibitor Information. You are also asked to provide a short rationale in support of your application covering: A brief description of your work (no more than 100 words) and reference for further information (e.g. website, CVs, press releases). A detailed description of the work you intend to present (including materials, dimensions, weight and relevant diagrams or installation notes). Where applicable a brief summary explaining any influences or connections with the Middle East – either relating to your practice in general or specifically to the work you would like to show. Please note this is not a prerequisite for selection. Six images of your work, including the work you intend to present (jpeg or TIFF file, high resolution images of A4 size, approx.1Meg). Please note clearly the work proposed for inclusion. Images to be sent as a zipped file via We Transfer.
