Last month, my grandmother lost her battle with ALS. This is a real disease that affects people of all ages, genders, races, shapes and sizes. This is a disease that 2-3 Canadians are diagnosed with everyday. This is a disease that, once diagnosed, people are given 2-5 years to live. Thank-you to all those who not just dumped a bucket of ice on their head, but fulfilled the real challenge of understanding the reason for this global movement. I would like to challenge all of my friends and family to continue to participate in the #ALSicebucketchallenge, but to take it a step further and to continue to educate yourself and others and to find out the different ways in which YOU can make a difference. For more information please visit als.ca. So thank-you Chris Cifarelli for the nomination! I’d like to continue this challenge by nominating my father, Phillip Cifarelli, my boyfriend, Jay Nadon, and by sending this overseas to Australia to my beautiful cousin, Lyndsay Adamson, and her boyfriend, Daniel Cusick. I hope the Australian winter is not too harsh!
