DESIGN TIPS: Furniture placement - remember function, focal point, furniture flow, and form are the mots important considerations. 1 - How will you use this room, and how will it best serve you, your family and guests? 2 - Where would you like the emphasis to be? Is it a fireplace, window, exterior landscape, or entertainment focus? 3 - Make the flow of traffic fluid and natural. Allow a minimum of 3 feet for openings. Your room does not need to feel like a maze. Pay close attention to doors where you enter and exit the room. 4 - Be mindful of the scale of your furniture in comparison to the size of the room. The room needs an assortment of horizontal, vertical, rounded or curved lines. Angular lines need to be softened with round or oval rugs, tables, rolled arms and accessories with curves.
