DESIGNING HUMANITY - Genetic Engineering This might happen sooner than you think. However, we should be scientifically literate and ethically wise enough to choose the most competent and ethically wise scientists in the world to plan and execute such radical revolution on human existence. By the way, only people with these crucial qualifications should have a say on that. Would you trust a windows cleaner to give his opinion on how a brain surgery should be done on you ? However, even more important than being capable to do it, how it should be done and with what ethical purpose it should be done will be way more important. Now comes the predictable question of those who do not know enough about genetic engineering and genetics: Can something go wrong ? Of course it can. But if done by enormously competent and ethical professionals ( not corporate employees ), probably, there will be way less mistakes than the current huge number of medical mistakes. And since genetic engineering is based on genes edition, those few mistakes will be relatively easy to correct like when you correct a typo in a text you just typed in the computer. By then, we, probably, will be using sophisticated computers with advanced Artificial Intelligence to execute such precise and virtually error free work. By the way, after we have eliminated or replaced all genes and epigenetic factors for genetic and epigenetic diseases and becoming even immune to all contagious diseases, we practically wont need doctors anymore, except for some accidents. Yet, bizarrely, very few people talk about these huge number of current medical mistakes. Ignorance always produce cognitive dissonance and irrational behavior.
