DISTRACTION BURGLARY APPEAL: Have you seen this man? We would like to speak to him about four burglaries in Keyworth. All four took place over the lunchtime hours of Monday (15 September 2014) and involved two men entering homes uninvited. The unwanted visitors walked in through unlocked front doors in Brook View Drive and Normanton Lane, but when challenged by the occupant left empty-handed. The men, who falsely claimed to work for Virgin Media, spoke with foreign accents. Wed like to remind you all to lock your doors, even if you are in, and do not leave windows open in unattended rooms. When someone you don’t know calls by claiming to be offering a service always ask for ID and then cross check those contact details with the directory and call them to verify they are who they say they are. If in doubt keep them out! A 29-year-old man has been charged with burglary with intent to steal. He has been remanded into custody. If you recognise the man in the image contact police on 101, quoting incident 300 of 15 September 2014, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
