DIVINE MOTHER RETREAT - Maleny, 2011 or 2012 (muddled?) When I was still actively involved with the White Eagle Lodge I ran a few Residential meditation weeks for them, the last was themed DIVINE MOTHER and it was good preparing for it. They even asked me to give the main talk at the public service, which I did on the White Eagle book about St Johns Gospel and the women in it - this was well received. The retreat itself had problems and on the last day abruptly went off the rails BADLY. Get accommodation for mum so I could go away was a nightmare and only forced me into a mad rush, and I was utterly exhausted. Also one (or two (?) of the women later complained about me! I suspect at least one was homophobic. Their gripe was I dared to warn them that if they held public Group meetings in their homes, some people might attend who they did not know, and these could actually be nasty, so they should think of issues like psychic self-defence. Shock horror. For telling them about a New Age channeller friend, who had recently been under psychic attack in her home (from visitors) I was denounced, marched out and the Maleny woman took over. Very very unprofessional. I was never given a chance to discuss this as a problem with the group, so see why this one (?) person was worried, and hear others views. Oh no. That would be far too fair. Indeed it was all handled in a secretive and authoritarian way - I felt like it was the Inquisition, and I was a heretic. One of the youngest women there had no idea what had happened to me, Id been kicked out to cool my heels in the library for a few HOURS!! She told me nothing was said about me that made any sense to her! The Lodge is very dishonest that way. This brought to the boil my festering problems with their super hierarchical structure, they pretend to be egalitarian and consultative, but it is a sham. They issue polite edicts on how to run events in Sydney whenever it suits, after consulting (ha ha) with ONE person (who no longer lived in Sydney!!) Great. Despite this being extremely humiliating, I am glad it forced to the surface the way the leaders at Maleny (and their guru Lodge Mother in England) really operate, and how dishonest and manipulative they really are. One of the sweet women attending the residential part took a few photos, these do not have faces, so I feel OK sharing these. The floor is of a set up to demonstrate the phases of the Moon in relation to the Sun - 1/4, Full, etc - and we did a session on everyones Moon sign. All attending (apart from me) were women, and it is traditional astrology that the Moon in a chart can be more important for a woman than the Sun. Several there were surprised to discover their Moon signs and had long felt their Sun sign was not very helpful - but their Moon sign meant a lot to them. The other picture is the main table top in the Library. I set up a Crystal Mandala (in the form of the Lodges symbol, the 6 pointed star) - made up of the more Feminine related crystals. The one nearest the lowest edge of the picture is Seraphinite, top right is Celestite, the left one I cant recall, I think it was a cluster they had up at the Temple. Others larger ones were Rose Qtz book ends from their shelves! Most of the main crystals were ones I bought specially in the months before and lugged up there - being heavy, they stretched my arms out of their sockets - extra heavy luggage is no fun!!! I also indulged in a bit of bling, wearing some necklaces and bracelets of many types of crystals to get me in the mood to lead meditations (e.g. on the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae in Lake Nasser, Aswan, Egypt). If you can ever get there it is very lovely. Best to try and go in a tiny group, or better still, ALONE so you are not rushed. I often imagine I am back there! ISIS must mean something deep inside me!
