DNA: #TODAY WE STUDY ON HUMAN DNA AND VIRAL RNA# HIV belong to the Family~retroviridae, Lentivirus. Upon Hiv entering the human cell, the ssRNA are released from the Virion envelope by the action of Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme. Mediated by the host cell RNA POLYMERASE II , and Reverse Transcriptase, ssRNA is converted into double-stranded DNA and incorporated into the host genome as PROVIRUS. This viral DNA is then transcribed to produce mRNA. This mRNA is processed and then translated into POLYPROTEIN, which is cleaved by the PROTEASE to yield the individual proteins that make up the virion. Virions develops into new HIV which infects the host cells again. The process keeps recurring. What would you like to know?
