DORIS DAY Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff (born Cincinnati, Ohio, April 3, 1924), better known in the artistic world by his pen name Doris Day, is an American actress and singer of traditional pop and jazz. Born into a middle class family, his early career in radio happened. It was one of the singers that emerged in the 1940s that, along with Dinah Shore, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Patti Page, created the female voice mode in traditional pop music. However, it was mainly devoted to the cinema, where ventured from his youth when he was called to shoot the film Romance on the High Seas, 1948. Since the mid-1950s, her roles were becoming increasingly important and was recognized for her acting conditions for comedy. Among the productions in which he appeared include The Tunnel of Love, Pillow Talk, Midnight Lace, Billy Roses Jumbo and Move Over, Darling, for which she received a lot of awards and distinctions.
