DRC: Ebola outbreak puts Botswana on high alert Botswana Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday said its health facilities are on high alert following reports that Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has registered some EBOLA/ VHF (Viral Hemorrhagic fever) cases.DRC joins the four West African Nations (Guinea-Conakry, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria) with the epidemic. Botswana said it will continue to monitor the situation at all levels and will update the public as the epidemic unfolds. All health facilities are on high alert to provide the necessary health services for the suspected Ebola/VHF, says the MOH. Contagious and virulent disease have severe fatality and can be transmitted via human contacts. Ministry of Health strongly advises the public to avoid or postpone travel to Ebola affected countries.
