DUBLIN AIRPORT DECLARES EMERGENCY: An Emergency operation swung into action this evening after Dublin Airport declared an Emergency involving a diverted aeroplane. The incident occurred when a United Airlines Boeing 777 from London to Washington DC was forced to divert to Dublin following reports of smoke in the cockpit. The Dublin Airport Authority confirmed that the plane landed safely at 6.15pm and all passengers disembarked from the aircraft. Dublin Airport Fire Service and Dublin Fire Brigade were alerted to the area and the HSE National Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre mobilised four Emergency Ambulances and two Ambulance Incident Officers.
