Dad (Tim Henley predicts a Hibernian Hangover) On Friday night - TopicsExpress

Dad (Tim Henley predicts a Hibernian Hangover) On Friday night the DeSales Colts will take the field against the Cougars of Holy Cross as they start their bid to repeat as Class 2A State Champions. This will also mark the second year that these two schools will play for the right to hoist the Hibernian Cup a trophy dedicated to the long and historic rivalry between these two south end football teams. With 7 returning starters from last years championship team the Colts seem to be firing on all cylinders early as they beat Meade County 31-6 ( last years Class 6A State Runner Up) in the final scrimmage of the pre-season while Holy Cross lost to Christian Academy 56-0 in their final tune-up. Before this game last season I said that DeSales was on the verge of something big while I expected it to be a few more years before Coach Crumbacker could bring the Cougars back to prominence and that statement still holds true today. These Colts have some big shoes to fill with the departure of the schools all time leading rusher, a talented quarterback and a host of seniors that all played with an intense will to win and who all provided exceptional leadership as a self proclaimed Band of Brothers. I have zero doubt about the talent level of this years senior class and I challenge them to be not only gifted athletes but, also vocal leaders both on and off the field as they march towards the schools second straight state championship. Holy Cross experiences a Hibernian Hangover as the Colts lift the cup for a second straight year - Colts win 49 - 3 The Time is Now! Go Colts! Repeat!
