Daily #BibleStudy Reading 3: The Book of #Genesis And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds. ” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day. Context & Questions: With things in their proper place, life can flourish. When boundaries are improperly crossed, life suffers. Floods come when water crosses its boundary and overwhelms the dry land. This is the kind of chaos God is overcoming in the creation story. He wants life to thrive, so he’s putting everything in its right place. Now on day three he makes the space for the sea and the land, and plants and trees immediately begin thriving in the space created for them. Step by step the stage is being set for all of life to burst forth in God’s new world. And of course, God continues to see that it is all good. His creative intention is coming into reality.
