Dairy of my life through hell Chapter 45 When we get inside there was no one, Spokes spend four hours at the phone, calling his family. After that we went to hospital to check his mother. She was in ICU they didnt allow us to see her. The nurses were so rude they didnt want to give us feedback on how shes doing, they told us that we should not bother them and beside that its not visiting time. I dont know why shes at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, a rich family like this can afford a private hospital. Im sure they have policies and medical aids. I said to Spokes love cant you move your mom to a private hospital, Im sure she will receive a better treatment. Not that Im against public hospitals, the service and standards of private hospitals are way much better than public hospitals. Spokes said lets wait for the feedback from the doctors then we can take it from there. We spend the night at the hospital and in the morning everyone was too busy. We sit at the waiting room until 12 mid day, still no one attended us. Spokes was very weak he didnt know what to do or say and he still have a furneral to prepare. I saw someone who look familiar, oh yes! It is him. That was the doctor who help Mrs Mazibuko to get rid of the rape evidence. I went to him and greeted him. He didnt even look at me, he said sorry sisi, cant you sit at the waiting roomthe nurses will attend you. Nx! I dont have time for that shit. I said mmmh! Service of this hospital is very bad. Doctor Motau said if you have a problem with our service, you can write your complain and put it in the complain box. I said maybe if I can write a letter to your bosses and tell them that you got bribe from Mrs Mazibuko to get rid of the very important evidence. And Im sure you heard that your friend, shes behind bars as were talking. He look at me. And say oh holly shit! Sihle is that you?. I said Im very pleased that you still remember my name. He said forgive my behaviour, Ive been under a lot of pressure. I said maybe I can save you from that, I can still make you stay at home where you wont be under a lot of pressure. He beg me to not do that and went on and on telling me that hes a breadwinner and how his job is important to him, blah! blah! blah! I told him that Im not here for that, we can put that on hold for another day. What I want from him is the feedback about a family member whos in ICU after been in accident yesterday. He quickly pick up whom Im talking about. He said he will go and check up on her and he will get back to us. After ten minutes, he came back he told us that shes still critical but stable and if theres any changes they will call us. At least now we know how shes doing. We went to Spokes apartment, we both took bath and change our clothes. We then went back to his mothers house. We find his two uncles and aunt. The first thing they did when they saw us. Is to tell us how long the travel was, their tired and hungry. Spokes said I will go and buy take aways. His aunt laugh and said is that how you rich people live, we dont want take aways we want a good home cook meal. I said is fine ,I will cook. I went to the kitchen and start preparing the cooking. Spokes came to me, he looked very stressed. I ask him hows the furneral preparation coming?. He took a deep breath and said I never prepared a furneral before and my uncles are not helping ethier. All they want is money left, right and center. And theyre making me sick. I gave him a hug and say dont worry Im sure we will manage. His aunt came in shouting this is not a honeymoon you two! And weve been waiting for the food. I said the food will be ready soon. She said tjo! Thats modern girls for you. Are you cooking or producing the food?. I said as I said the food will be read soon or do you want me to serve as it is?. She said nx! And went back to the living room. I ask Spokes is she always like this?. He said Ag! I dont know her very well, Im not close with these people. I finish the cooking and dish up. After they eaten they said they going to see their sister in hospital. I was now left with Spokes. I said I didnt saw your father so far, isnt he suppose to be part of the preparations?. He said babe theres lot of things that you wont understand about this family, I dont think my father will came. My sisters were not his kids and he never liked them. I feel sorry for my man, what will he do now? Spokes said Sihle I dont know what to do or where to start?. I gave him a massage, I said I will write a list of groceries for you, we must have food for people who came to pay respect. I wrote him the list, he went to buy the grocery and I had to stay behind in case if people came , they must find someone. Spokes came back after an hour to bring the grocery. He went to see his friend Sipho, he promise to get a pastor for us. Thats what happened to those who are not church goers, once an incident like this came up, you end up paying some priest. I decided to bake and later neighbours started to pop in to pay respect. There was no family member, who was sitting on a mattress. That aunt was not suppose to leave. Some elders behave like kids. Days pass on without family members and lot of people came by to pay respect. Spokes friends were very helpful ,they came everyday after work to support their friend. And they also help a lot with the preparations. Friends like these theyre friends in need and friends to keep. Lot of family members came in Friday late, the day before the furneral. When they came they started pointing things around and changing things. They were against everything we did, Gugu and I we manage to put them in their place. They cant stay at their places and decided to came in the last day just to boss us around. Spokes was right his father didnt bother to came. Spokes mother was out of ICU but still in hospital. Julia was piss off with the family behaviour. They didnt want to help with the cooking but expected to get food. Julia told them that if they dont help with the cooking none of them will get food, we will only serve church people and other people who came to pay respect. The family said is all about revenge , the deceaded they never help when theres family gathering and furneral. Julia told them how shameful it is to pay revenge to dead people. Julia is one of those ladies who dont take shit. She can tell you where to get off and not feeling guilty after that. After she told them where to get off, they all went to help at the kitchen. I took Spokes phone and check his dads phone number. I went outside and call him. I ask him why hes not here to support his son when he need him most. He told me that I should stay away from things thats not concern me and beside that the deceased where not his daughters, they wake up from the death and went to look their fathers. Yoh I didnt believe what I was hearing, this man is heartless. I said to him theres lot of people and family members here and they expect to see you. And what type of man are you ,who turn his back when your family need you most? Youre a respectable business man what people will say if you dont support your family, you will drag your family name in a mud, is that what you want? I know that a famly is not your first priority, but once in your life put your son as your first priority. Dont forget that his sisters are not his kids eitheir. He need your support more than ever. I beg you the furneral ceremony will start 07:00 am tomorrow, please be there. Your son will be pleased to see you there. He laugh and ja! You can talk neh! But I get your point. Ill be there tomorrow but Im doing this for my son not anyone else. ***THE END***
