Dan Nance had a rough night Sat so I decided to stay in Houston a little longer. The left lung has closed off again. He does not like sleeping on the vent because it makes him cough but it is also suppose to open that left airway up. He has been cutting back to about 4 hours a night and that may be why the airway had collapsed again. Docs are revisiting the idea of stenting it open but that usually causes mucus to back up behind the stent. They have called an ENT Doc to evaluate him for a custom trach which may help. His physical therapy is going well except for a nerve problem with his shoulder which is causing a lot of pain. Still praying for him to be home for Christmas.
