Daniel Peeps - I need you. I have fallen off the fast this morning, but am determined to get back on it, as of 49 minutes ago. Thursday the 27th was the first day of the Fast for Mom, PaPa and me. I think my friend Holly was going to start, but I have not heard from her. My first day of the fast was a tiny bit hard because I did not know what I was doing and I knew what I wasnt doing - which was coming downstairs, pouring a cup of coffee with Coffee-mates 15 chemicals in their list of ingredients and waking Brooklyn up for school. It felt weird to not drink coffee. It wasnt the coffee I was missing as much as the routine. Someone pointed out how that is one of the hardest things for smokers - giving up the routine. I can understand that now. Mom and I made a run to Aldis and Walmart for NUTS, fruits and veggies then I made a run for Kansas City to go to KU Med for an eye issue I am having. On the way up there, we stopped in Abilene for Brooklyn to get a chicken sandwich and fries at Burger King while I drank water. Day 2 of my Daniel Fast (yesterday) went great, thanks to a trip to Trader Joes. Watermelon, pine nuts, cashews, Chia seeds and grapes with water - ALL day. I was growing very tired of NUTS yesterday. I did not even cheat at the movie theatre when I made the HUGE MISTAKE of going to see NOAH. It was terrible. Do. NOT. Go. Go see Gods Not Dead instead! But this morning....it started off with REALLY wanting coffee. I did not have any. Brooklyn asked for some Oreos and I went to get her four. There was a 1/4 cookie broken. So I ate it. Why?? I dont even like Golden Oreos. I had to make up for it by eating a whole regular Oreo. Why? Who can say? Having fallen off the wagon, I was fully listening to satan when I pondered a bowl of my MOST FAVORITE cereal, Cinnanon Toast Crunch, and he helped me reach for that bowl. All that took place before noon. So here it is, 1:19 pm and I have my water nearby and I am ready to re-start. Isnt that what is so great about God? Fresh starts, new chances. Go NUTS! :)
