Date: Thursday, July 03, 2014 Todays Chapters: Psalms 132-137 Message Title: A Settled Place For God Some people spend their entire lives in one home, others move so often that you cannot keep up with them. There is a saying, “Home is where the heart is.” This saying could not be further from the truth, if our heart is not in what we are doing we are not going to get very far in life. An amazing thing happens the second we ask Jesus Christ into our heart, the Holy Spirit moves in, that means we have twenty-four hour access to God no matter where we are. So why do we suffer so much? We do not let the Holy Spirit get settled into to His place. If we truly want to see God blessing us until He takes us to our permanent place in His Kingdom, then we must make Him feel at home. “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which mans wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” - 1 Corinthians 2:12,13. David, a king, felt it necessary to make a permanent place for God in his life. Did he always follow Gods commands? Of course not, he was a sinner just like everyone else that has received Christ, but knowing God was with him taught him the importance of repentance. We will never rest or even repent of sin until we truly allow Christ to dwell in us first. “LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions: How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob; Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.” - Psalm 132:1-5. We should always find a place for Christ in our lives, He wants to be in every part of it, the sooner we realize that, the more blessed we will become. “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.” - Romans 8:8-12. Throughout the Bible you will often read, “God is above all gods” or something similar. Of course, there is only One God, but thanks to false religion, rebellious people, and a society that hates God, there are other gods, man made gods that take place over Christ. In an instant a person who lives for Christ can forsake Him for their god. “Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD. Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant. For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure. For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants. The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of mens hands. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.” - Psalms 135:1-5,15-18. God has chosen all who believe in and accept His Son, Jesus Christ, to be His peculiar treasure. We are by far perfect, but we are Gods, and He will bless us tremendously if we are committed to Him. We cannot expect God to give us the things we want and desire if we are trusting in the things of the world rather than Him. “Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” - 1 Peter 2:7-10. False gods and religions are not merciful, they will send you straight to hell if you sneeze and do not say God bless you. The One and Only True God, who dwells in each and every one of you that have received Jesus Christ as your Savior is and always will be merciful to you. You see, God knows the flesh, He knows it is wicked, corrupt, and full of itself, but He loves us anyway, and that is why He made a way for us to dwell with Him without any effort on our part. The key, admitting that you are a sinner and need Jesus. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” - Romans 3:10-12,22-24. Todays Prayer: Jesus, Thank You for the great sacrifice You made so that I could even have a place with You in Gods Kingdom. Lord, I know I can never do anything repay You for giving Your life for me, but I can show my love and thanks by allowing You to come into my life and letting You shine through me. Give me Your power and strength to hold on to You, I know You will never let go of me, but I never want to feel as though I have have let go of You. Lead me and guide me in You will. In Your name, Jesus. Amen. God Bless You, I am praying for you, Christina Are You 100% Sure That You Are Going To Heaven?
