David Orr on why he endorsed Chuy today: I think theres a groundswell that people arent seeing. Some say Oh, well, how can anyone beat that money? Yet the mayor, with millions, has a hard time getting signatures on his petitions. Chuy Garcia, in three weeks time, spending no money, all volunteer, got sixty-some thousand. If youd given him another week, he probably would have gotten 90 thousand! And what that says is people jumped out of the woodwork -- because despite the cynicism we all face, people believe in a better city. They believe in making a difference. I believe Chuy Garcia is the kind of person that can show people that there is trust and there is goodness and there is hope to make the city better for everybody.
