Day#0: This is a temporary switch. I’m switching my role among one of those many things that my Twitter profile says I do. Speaking Twitter-wise, apart from being a ‘dreamer’ and ‘believer’ (everyone is a ‘dreamer’ and a ‘believer’ on Twitter. If you’re not, it is like not having a voter card or PAN card in real life), I’m also a banker, foodie, writer, and, my current role, ‘traveller’. I begin my journey today; unlike my past few trips, this is not a ‘one destination’ journey. So, I’ll probably write about this trip on a daily basis, and later compile it when the trip concludes, mind you; trips never ‘end’ but ‘conclude’. Speaking of my past few trips, my last trip was to the picturesque city of Udaipur, with my fellow traveller Rahul. He is getting transferred to Kolkata. I tried calling him in the afternoon, but he didn’t answer. Hopefully I’ll hear from him when he reads this. Otherwise we are done with business. My clients are not his clients anymore. Every time I travel, I recall one of the best advices I ever got, from another fellow traveller. ‘Let Life Flow’ I was once told, cannot miss to mention this on any of my trips. I left office after a dozen ‘good byes’ and ‘happy journeys’ and a good conversation on places to see in Kerala, which could be the second half of my trip. I spent the next few hours shopping, watching IPL, and eating; I began to get into travel mode by late afternoon. Finally, I faced the toughest part of a journey for me, even tougher than good byes- packing. Philosophers believe that in every man lives a woman and vice versa. The woman in me comes to act when I begin to pack my bags for a trip; I struggle in deciding over which t-shirt to keep and which not to, ending up packing more stuff than required. But then the beast in me resumes and ensures that the number of bags remains two only, even if it means sitting on the top of a suitcase and forcing it tight shut. The journey began on a good note, sounds like a writing workshop in the offing. Next, as the bus halts at a highway eatery, I get a sudden request on WhatsApp from a friend to write a quick birthday note for ‘someone’. I’m happy I’m not entirely useless as a writer. By the time I post this, Day#0 will be converted into Day#1, which is going to be an eventful day in the trip. I will be travelling a large distance tomorrow, I’m hopeful of meeting an old new friend. I am also hopeful of meeting a teacher turned friend. I have been writing chapter 18 of my second book since past one week or so. I hope to finish this chapter before I enter Mumbai’s territory. This chapter, by the way, takes the story to Mumbai. Till tomorrow, traveller’s song of the day: ‘Dil Dhadakne do’ from ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.’ youtube/watch?v=WuMWwPHTSoY
