Day 1 of 5 Craig Douglas and Rufus Stone tagged myself in the 5 day song challenge thing doing the rounds on Facebook, and its something Id usually avoid, but saying as these chaps have exquisite taste in music, Im going to bloody well do it. The first song Ill chose is When You Sleep by My Bloody Valentine. Sofia Coppala quite rightly chose Kevin Shields to curate the soundtrack to Lost in Translation. The sound of When You Sleep is exactly how I remember the feeling, or perhaps better to say emotion, of Tokyo. A dreamy blur with a tinge of bittersweet melancholy. Tokyo is the kind of city that makes you believe in ghosts, this song is it.
